Environmental

Clare is well known for her litterpicking and minimising impact to our blue spaces. Whether paddling canoe, kayak or stand up paddle board; if there’s litter, Clare will find a way to retrieve it, carry it and dispose of it accordingly to avoid further impact to the eco systems and biodiversity of our bodies of water, our waterways and our oceans. Her connection with the water is what motivates Clare to continue the relentless clean up as she gains so much through being in, on or by water for her health, well-being, learning and enjoyment and can’t bear to see the impact of humanity and our ‘throwaway’ society in her natural healing spaces. Clare actively promotes ‘paddle pick ups’ and through raising awareness of the impact of litter pollution invites and encourages others to consider doing the same.

Due to her appreciation of this connection and the benefits she reaps from it, Clare volunteers with the Seaful charity which aims to share and promote our blue spaces with others to help them find their own connections and their own ways in which to protect them.

Below are just some of the ways that Clare helps protect our blue environments and remove some of what shouldn’t be there; often with interesting and historical results. The gallery comes in three parts with the first being the video section, the second a still images thumbnail overview of items and the third being the images in full size, detail and information about the discovery:
