This week’s discussion point from me is about paddling and trust. Trust can be vital both in paddling and life. It can take years to develop yet it can be lost in an instant. Once trust is lost, it can be difficult to gain back. Or can it? What does trust mean to you?
Do you have trust in:
Your self-confidence?
Your ability?
Your paddle gear?
Your safety gear?
Your craft?
Your paddle pals?
Other water users?
Your chosen waters?
What factors are key to you when developing trust? When and how has trust made a difference to you and your paddling? Can you think of an example when trust or lack of it made a real difference in your paddle development? If you’ve lost trust in part of your paddle life, what impact did this have and did you ever gain it back?
